I am trying to get some help with my Android tablet. It is running Eclair 2.1 and it has no upgrade option. I have looked everywhere. Someone told me I could upgrade through Google play but I can't get it to connect. As far as I can tell the version I have is no longer supported.
There is no obvious brand name. When I try to connect to Google play it tells me this: Telechip tcc8900
This is what the device tells me.

Firmware version: 0.94
Kernel version: linux kernel 2.6.29
Build number: Android 2.1
I downloaded a version of Froyo and it loads about half way and then I get this message: e:failed to verify whole-file signature E:signature verification failed
I did root the device with z4root and I also have Android Hackers on it but as of yet I have no idea how to use them.
What I am looking to do is update the tablet to a better os. I don't much care which one as long as I can download the apps I am interested in and use it. If someone could please help by pointing me in the right direction or telling me how to fix this I would be very grateful.
