I have a very basic desktop that I use mostly to surf the internet, check emails and do word processing.
I don't even have a smartphone or a text plan so I try to keep things pretty simple.
Several times a month my wife and I take an overnight trips and take my heavy outdated laptop.
My wife suggested it was time for me to start looking into buying a new one. The only 2 things I use this laptop is for internet and emails. I do not use apps or download music or movies.

I just purchased a new Acer 11.6″ A0722-0473 Notebook for $197 on a 30 days trial basis. Now I am beginning to wonder whether I should gotten a tablet instead.

Questions
1. Does 7" or 10" make any difference for my needs?
2. Which one do you suggest for under $100, between $100 - $125 and $125 - $150.
3. Or should I just keep the notebook?
4. Is there a notebook that's a better buy at a lower price since I will only be using it occasionally.

Tablets I am considering:
Pandigital 7" Tablet PC Android 2.0 2 GB $88
Maylong M -250 7" Tablet PC Android 2.2 $97
Velocity Micro Cruz R102 7" 256 MB RAM Android 2.0 $100
Ematic eGlide with Wi-Fi 7" Touchscreen Tablet PC Android 2.2 $118
Coby Kyros 7-Inch Android 2.3 4 GB Touchscreen Tablet MID7012-4G $112
Coby Kyros 7-Inch Android 2.3 4 GB Touchscreen Tablet MID7016-4G $122
Coby Kyros 7-Inch Android 2.2 4 GB Touchscreen Tablet MID7024-4G $148
Coby Kyros 7-Inch Android 2.3 4 GB Capacitive Touchscreen Tablet with MID7022-4G $166
Coby Kyros 8-Inch Android 2.2 4 GB Touchscreen Tablet MID8124-4G $159
Coby Kyros 8-Inch Android 2.3 4 GB Touchscreen Tablet MID8125-4G $156
Superpad 10.2" Tablet PC, Google Android 2.1, Webcam, GPS, HDMI, USB, WIFI, 2 micro SD card slots $160

Thanks in advance for your suggestions!!!

I just got my tablet today -- it's the Coby Kyros MID 7022 on your list -- and, yeah, it's magic for Internet, email, and games! It's a solid little tablet and I am definitely seeing myself taking this with me a lot. It will be awesome for trips, doctor's appointments, anywhere you're away from home and have to wait.

I think if you get a tablet you'll find yourself using it for more stuff than you originally anticipated. That's why I'd go with something like the Kyros 7022. I've found Android TV programs and discovered that I can get BBC Four on it and watch it on my TV! (The Kyros 7022 has a mini HDMI slot, too.) Also, I've read reviews stating that some of the other inexpensive tablets are rather cheaply made and the screens can't actually pop off and break. My Coby seems very sturdy and I'm impressed with the quality.

Check Ebay -- that's where I got mine, brand new and in the box for less than $150.
