Help with email and contacts

How do I add an email address from contacts to a new email?

I was attempting to compose a new email, and couldn't figure out how to get an email address from the contacts. Both the B&N Mail app and the Gmail app receive mail from my gmail account, and I can receive and reply ok. The contact list has all my contacts from my gmail account, as well.

There doesn't seem to be any kind of menu choice, button, or even a tap on the address bar to do this simple task.

you should just be able to start typing the name and then the email address will pop up and you can click on it

Absolutely right...you SHOULD be able to do that...but it doesn't import contacts properly from gmail in the app...once you use Bitzer though, it does work just like that.
