Help with new galaxy tab and original droid

Folks, I have a new Verizon galacy tab and would like to use it with my rooted droid and connect to the wifi tether on the dtoid. I have seen that this has been done successfully using an app called z4root, which is no longer available in the, market.
So, I am looking for proven, reliable instructions on how to reliably and safely root this tablet, then the instrucyions for replaving the supplicant file thay will enable my tab to connect to my drois's wigi tether. Thanks so much in advance for your help!
