how can i connect using bluetooth?

Hello. I have an Acer Iconia Tab A500 and a Gingerbread phone. I cannot get either of them to connect to a bluetooth device. I have read the owners manuals but the specified instructions don't work. It tells me to press on the name of the device I wish to connect to and then it will connect. I've tried long presses and short presses, nothing works. I know both devices are paired, powered and working. Please help!

try to put in a code both need a password ,the same of course even if you dont see the password still put it in blue tooth key board you cant see the code on the
key board but when opening your blue tooth a code must be there tipe that on both in.
