Couldn't believe there is no support to allow us to connect to an adhoc WiFi network [love to know the reasons / business drivers]
If you want it so you can connect to most phones for Internet access when you're out and about, the following WORKS and it's easy to follow. Ignore 'xoom' reference

You will need the wpa supplicant file out of this:

Note: you need to start and stop WiFi service when you change connections.
