How To Remove Security Pattern

Hi I am Rupesh from India and I am using redmi note 4 and it runs MIUI9. while using some app it has requested to set a security pin and I have done it.

Each and every time the phone is idle for 6 minutes the system gets locked and I have to enter the security lock ie., pin 1982.

I don't want to enter the pin every time I mean I want to remove security lock ie pin. I remember the pin.

I have searched the word pin in setting's but can't find it.

I have searched web for how to remove security lock and found suggestions as "flash ROM", "hard reset" etc.,.

Please suggest how to remove security lock without flashing, resetting etc.,.

Settings > Security & location. Tap on the current setting beneath "Screen lock" and from there you should be able to change from the pin to another type of lock.

Thanks for your suggestion but I can't find security and location entry in settings but found screen lock by searching in settings.

I'm running Android 8.1 here so locations may differ depending upon Android version.
