[HOWTO] Root the iMiTO AM801

1. Install ConnectBot from the Market
2. Download and install http://dl.dropbox.com/u/6995251/imito-am801/com.modaco.visionaryplus.r14.apk
3. Download and install http://dl.dropbox.com/u/6995251/imito-am801/GingerBreak-v1.20.apk
4. Open Visionary, select TEMPROOT NOW (if after you clicked, it show black screen, go to HOME and re-open Visionary again, and then select TEMPROOT NOW again), then it will return back to Visionary menu screen (means your device is already temporary rooted).
5. Open ConnectBot, type "su" and enter. It will ask for 'superuser' permission, then type "mount -o rw,remount -t ext3 /dev/block/mtdblock8 /system" and enter. This will remounts the system partition with read/write.
6. Open GingerBreak, select ROOT NOW.. wait till your device turn off, then on it again..your device should be rooted now already...

I tried this, when I tap "TEMPROOT NOW", it goes to the black screen and I go home. Then when I try to open it(again), it freezes and never opens. Help?

Try running Gingerbreak at that point.
