During HTC's press release for its February earnings review, HTC Asia Vice President Jack Tong stated that the HTC Flyer is not entering a price battle with its competition, but will be marketed with a primary focus on the aggregation of digital content. In otherwords, it is not going to be cheap. Whether or not this also means that HTC is successful in forming attractive partnerships for digital content remains to be seen.
He also emphasized that HTC will focus this year on strengthening retail terminals, increasing the quality of customer support, and providing new experiences to consumers. Hopefully this means less restrictive carrier ties for new products, and a wider retail presence for products such as the Flyer.
The HTC Flyer is also recently rumored to have order visibility reaching to the end of August, with actual orders reaching a million units.
