Internal Memory Is Full

Hi my name is jeff i own a s7 slim my internal memory is full and my android doesn't do updates i may have deleted some files opps
My Question is if i do a factory reset then format my internal memory will it fix the problem?

I Have usb backup of most files will i be able to put it back on with external sd card
