I'm getting my tax refund in a week and I'm planning to use part of it to buy two Android tablets. My budget is about $500 for both. The Nook Color comes in at that price.
Things I like about the Nook Color (that other cheap 7" tablets don't have)
1. 1024x600 display
2. 512mb RAM
Things I don't like:
1. You must root the device to install any third party apps -B&N should have provided a full Android out of the box.
2. No HDMI port - I'd like to hook it up to my HDTV and use it for Netflix movies (when the app is available of course).
Things I'd like to have, but aren't deal breakers:
1. Cameras, both front and rear, for video conferencing and augmented reality apps.
Back to the main question - can I get a better tablet for $250 or so?
