Issue with Google Books

Every time i launch Google books I get the error "Couldn't retrieve the contents of the My ebooks shelf from Google. Check your internet connection and try again". My internet connection is fine as I can access Gmail, Facebook, Market, etc.

I have emailed Google and they had me clear app data and force shutdown the app as well as remove updates. Nothing has helped.

I called Sony and performed a restore to factory default which did not help.

I was able to access my ebooks and read them just fine until a recent book purchase. I since then removed the book with no luck.

Has anyone experienced these same issues?

Google is now stating a new update is due by the end of February 2012 to resolve connection type issues to there servers on tablets.

I went to a hotel and connected to their wireless and all my books worked. So I knew it had to be in my home network. I found out it was my whole house content filter (Bsecure - Ultimate Online Family Protection) blocking encrypted.google.com.

I unblocked it and all is well! From now on I will check my alert log.
