Java for Android 2.1

Hi I am using a Google 10" epad using Andropd 2.1 system and was wondering if anyone knows if Java can be installed on it? If so how and where do I get it? Thanks

Big Wade - not sure what you are asking here. Android apps are written in Java and then compiled as Android specific apps, but in standard class files. The OS itself is so close to pure Java that Oracle keeps trying to sue Google over Java patent infringements. So basically Android = Java now.

Well when I am on my web browser and want to go to pogo to play games it says I need to install Java. But I can not find java for android system. any ideas?

Thanks Igstoian. I was wondering the same about games.yahoo.com and found your post and now know that JRE java is a no go in Android

Is it the same for Kindle books? When I go to the Kindle shop it says i need to enable java on my mobile device. I have a 7" Storage options scrool Android 2.1 tablet.
