Kyros 8125

Hello..
I have a co-worker which won a Coky Kyros 8125 in a contest; 50-50 raffle or something.

Anyway, is there any custom ROM to update this to steev's Alldro2 ROM or something similar? Even though the 8125 is running 2.3.3, it's not as responsive as my 7024 with steev's custom ROM. They are different processors too but I didn't think it would cause that much of an issue, but it seems it does.

The problem is the processor board: Telechips Cortex A8 (TCC8803) + Mali200 won't perform as good as a Samsung Cortex A8 (S5PV210) + PowerVR SGX540. Not to mention that the CFW for 7024/8024/1024 are optimized, what doesn't happen with the system in the tablets with TCC8803. Hopefully a custom firmware will be available for them so people can tweak the settings.

I did notice that it wasn't quite as responsive so I looked at the specs between the 7024 and the 8125.. Supposedly the "same processor" speed (1Ghz) and name (A8), but different manufacturer.. But too once you flash a custom ROM, looking at and using the default ROM is just awful too.. ha-ha..

Another reason it's slower: it seems that Telechips based tablets use NAND for the data+cache partitions, while Samsung smdkv210 based ones use an internal microSD, which is faster usually (and easy to replace BTW).

Ok.. Thank you for the info.. I found out they were able to get market installed by following the 7022 market install video on you tube.. Looks like no need to root, etc. for them.. Thanks..
