On Monday Lenovo announced that their Thinkpad would receive Androids latest and greatest OS, aka Android 4.0, or as most would call it, Ice Cream Sandwich in Q2. Some features of ICS will not make it to the Tablet because of hardware compatibilities. Those features include both Android Beam and NFC payments because of the tablets lack of hardware support for NFC. The OS, which is designed for both smartphones and tablets, improves encryption layers for data and e-mail security. Users should expect the update to arrive as an OTA package, but no firm Q2 dates were given.
