ly 706 wi-fi won't connect

I just got this LY 706 and can't connect either at work or at home. I have Verizon Fios at home and a regular secured network at the school where I teach. At home it gets to obtaining ip address, goes for a while, then says unsuccessful. At work it doesn't even get that far. It sees both networks, and I've entered the password at work and the wep key at home. I've looked all over and can't find any help. If you can help I would be really grateful. Thanks!

For the epad zenithink zt-180 it would not connect when the security protocol was wep but worked if it was wpa2. Or change the router setting from open to shared.
See if there is an update to the rom
