mic/audio interface for Nexus 7?

I bought a Tascam ixz thinking that someone had figured out how to make it jive with the Nexus 7, given it seems to work on a few Android devices. No go

Any advice on other options? I want to use the Nexus 7 as my main recording device with Audio Evolution, Caustic, etc., but haven't found a way to plug external audio (from mics, directlines) etc into the 7. please help!
