Moving files .doc & .pdf fiiles from laptop to Craig 7" tablet.

Unless someone can help me... I am taking this thing back to the store.
I bought this tablet for the primary purpose of uploading files (Sunday Sermons) in .doc format, and also to use as an Ereader. Was I naive to believe that would not be a hard thing? I have a book in .pdf format that I would like to load on the tablet into the ebook library, and I also need an easy way to transfer my .doc files from my laptop to the tablet. Any help would be appreciated. I have been able to read files from a flash drive but I would like to be able to save them to the tablet. When I connect the tablet to the laptop, the laptop doesn't see the connection. HELP!

Hi. I'm puzzling thru some of these things too.
When the tablet is turned on, the USB is in "Host Mode" by default.

BEFORE plugging in the USB connector, go to SETTINGS, scroll down to USB, and turn off "HOST MODE".
Now plug in; the tablet & the computer should recognize each other.

I can't get the tablet and my computer to recognize each other, either. My tablet doesn't have a USB option under SETTINGS, although it has 2 USB ports. Any other ideas?
