I have a new Galaxy Tab 4 and want to download music from my computer directly to the sd card. How do I do this and not add the music to the memory of the tablet? Also, how do I play all of the music on the card as opposed to one track at a time?......thanks

There are ways to do that using apps like AirDroid or WiFi File Transfer but the best solution is to get a microSD card - USB reader.
An app called JetAudio may be able to play the music you want/need. It's one of a few players that can index the music on the microSD card.
