Music while I play- any tips?

Hello, I want to know if I can listen to music on my m703 while browsing or playing games without the sound quality suffering too much. I've tried with meridian & standard player but the sound breaks up and the apps are pretty slow. Is there a way to stop this? Either a better music player or tweaks to my tablet to help..any ideas out there? My tab is rooted if this helps any.
