Need an entry level device do recommend

Hi there,I am a newbie to the forum and also Android O/S,would like fellow members
to recommend me an entry level device ( I have very basic IT knowledge and have been
using Axim 50 for the past few years,the screen is too small for my tired old eyes and the
device hangs far too often)my budget is about $150 if possible the device should work
out of the box and have some useful applications pre-installed,I use very few applications
eg. reading e-books (txt,pdf,pdb)
comic cbr,cbz pdf image
view photo
web e-mail,you-tube IM,QQ chat (need wifi)
also do recommend a reliable retailer that can offer good back-up service,
