Need Help Rooting MID7048 On MacbookPro

I recently got a new Android tablet and I am pretty new to the device. I am use to IOS and Mac OS X but I am eager to learn Android. I want to root my MID7048 to the best of it's ability. I know tech fairly well I just figured I would ask first rather than trying myself and breaking something since I am not too use to Android. Anyone have any instructions on how I can root my tablet using Mac OS X 10.7.5? My tablet is running Android 4.0.3 with Kernal 3.0.8. Thanks a lot for the help.
