need help with haipad mid701 - 2 problems

hi.. can anyone help with 2 problems i have with my haipad mid701 tcc8902?
1 - cannot seem to download any files from internet. like ebooks. for instance from gutenberg.org or any other site. it says "downloading" but then immediatelly changes to failed. doesn't say why... and stays in "downloads" as failed.. any suggestions?
2 - i cannot get my pc see the device. it says cannot find driver and then never can see it.

i got this mainly for internet and books and now cannot get files to it.
help!

PLESE HELP!
Do i need to do anything special to get my haipad see files on SD card? i copied files (epub) to the card but haipad doesn't see them.
