new andriod user need help please

I am a new Andriod user I have a Wondermedia WM8650 Andriod Version 2.2 Kernal Version 2.6.32.9 default Build is generic-eng2.2 Froyo ver 1.5.2-20110804 051257 and I am having a problem with the browser settings as every time I try to get to a site it takes me to firefox but then it comes up with firefox can not install as it has a problem so can not get to the site I want, when looking in the web settings it is not highlighted so what do I do, have tried to do a reset to factory settings but still no joy can anyone help me please.

You may have turned OFF Wi-Fi.You can NOT use internet without Wi-Fi.

Go to your settings and make sure it says wifi connected. It might say searching for connection or you may have mistakenly unchecked the connect to wifi box.
