New to Android..have a camera question

Hi! Got a Zenith Think pad,C93,4.1.1.....My first Android and really love it but I have a problem..my camera worked fine, took a few pics, then deleted them.Ever since deleting I can't take pics, keep getting "insert sdcard to use camera"..so what happened and I put a sdhc card in and it says the same thing, does not recognize card....I'm sure its something simple but no clue what to do! Please help, its driving me crazy!..
