New user to Android 2.1 tablet would like help to find 2.1 driver and manual

My tablet remained unused by my grandson for 18 months because the instructions were in Chinese. He gave it to me when given an Ipad.

A chinese cook yesterday managed to get it into English.

I have connected to the net by wifi and to Maps and Google but am finding it very difficult to operate without instructions. Where can I find a manual or operating instructions?

I would like to connect to my lap-top but cannot find a driver.

Any help gratefully ( and greatly) appreciated.
