I am doing my own survey....how many of you have this one? I can't get most apps as it says "The Amazon Appstore is not yet available in your region" Or "Device not compatible with Appslib". Can someone help??:confused::mad:

Come on....171 views to this post of mine and not one person has an answer for me?

Nope as I just got the Nextbook Premium 9 and noone can help me either with Android Market, or Facebook etc... Really frustrated at this point,.

Hiya!

I have a NextBook 8.
If you would like to install other apps besides the ones from SlideME Marketplace, you will have to install other app store packages. I think I have Getjar installed. Now I know I tried to install Google Play, but something about the NextBook OS doesn't like it (though I didn't try hard enough). I only needed to tweak it a little and didn't need to root the device. I changed the Launcher and now use Claystone. You can try this or if it's buggy, recommend you try other launchers like Go Launcher. Other apps I have installed include Skype, Yahoo Messenger!, ES Task Manager, ES File Explorer, Amazon Kindle (never use it tho as Kobo is good enough), Aldiko (which I use as my preferred book reader) and just a few more apps and a few games.

Basically, if you need more apps, you will have to look at other 'markets' (using other market apps like Getjar and Google Play).

Post here again if you have difficulties finding other market apps. (I will try and find direct URLs for them and paste it here).

Cheers!... and hope this points you in the right direction.

Last time I was at 'Hasting Book Store' web site in the review section on the Nextbook, there were a couple of links to apps'.

this may or may not help..i just bought the 7" model this past weekend from Big Lots. It only has GetJar on it for apps. They have alot of apps on GetJAr but obviously not as good as the actual Android market. That being said since android is an open source OS ANY company that build tablets can use it. Therefore Nextbook is not authorized to use the android market as its leading go to app place. If truth be told anyone with android knowledge can still get apps to the tablet via this way: (yes it sucks but for right now thjis is the only way until a hack comes along)

1. Download the app to your android phone or OTHER tablet that lets you access the market.
2. Use ASTRO or ES file explorer to backup the app
3. Copy the app to your pc
4. dump it to nextbook tablet
5. install the app on the nextbook by selecting it from a file manager (astro comes with it)

the app WILL install with zero problems. thats what i did. Yes its combersome but it works. Problem is the app will not update since the tablet doesnt connect to the android marklet.

Hope this helps.
