If you use the internet at all, you probably hit Google at least once per day, and if you did that today, you probably already noticed this. Still, just in case you weren't paying attention, Google is using their own greatest advertising tool, (the Google search engine page itself), to advertise one of its own new products, the Nexus 7. You will only see this on the U.S. version of Google, but right underneath the Google Search there is a Nexus 7 popping out of a pocket. If you click on it, it will take you to the Google Play Store where you can nab your own Nexus 7.
Is it shameless advertising? Of course, but it is smart nonetheless, and we can't really blame them. How many other ways can you think of to advertise simultaneously to billions of people for practically free? Besides, it's the Nexus 7, which is a pretty amazing product, and definitely worth your attention!
