The Lifepad A800 was rumored way back in May this year. Well it's almost ready to make a splash.
There are confirmations that variants of the device is starting to ship in China. The device is set to launch as a device on China Telecom. It does only ship with Android 2.1, but there has been development of Android 2.2 on the platform. China Telecom is said to have invested heavily in the development of the device.
IT168 promises a followup review of the device. If prices are reasonable, this could be the first Cortex A8 tablet out of China with support from a major supplier. China Telecom is one of the largest mobile operators in China.
Subsidized pricing is rumored to be 1200RMB (180USD) with a one year contract, or 4800RMB to buy the device out right (700USD).
We can also be sure that variants of this platform will start to appear from the shanzhai scene.
