Quickly put tablet to sleep?

I would like to put the TF300T to sleep when I close the case cover. It doesn't happen now and waits for the time out. Is there a setting that makes this possible? Is there a button pressing sequence before closing the case?

What you are describing is the way it is designed to work. The only thing I can think of is to shorten the timeout. I know that isn't a solution but I don't know any other way unless you tap the power button after closing.

Thank you, tapping the power button works. I just thought it would work like my wife's Nexus 7 since it has an ambient light sensor.

Hi.. Had the same problem ,, but i tried the free program .SimpleOn lite and it did the job, only thing is when i move my hand over the ligt sensor it turn my screen black
