Registration was originally devised as a mechanism to prevent units manufactured made from B-grade discard pile PCBs from performing successful upgrades by the original design manufacturer.
If you device originally shipped without a registration code, and you bought an early production device (as late as around February), you have a B-grade SuperPAD.
In the more recent updates, the original manufacturer has removed the registration requirement attached to the firmwares.
You are all recommended to update to at least firmware 3245:
