Removing Apps from Tablet?

I am recently the proud owner of my first tablet, a VIZIO 8". How do I remove an app that I recently installed, and no longer want?

Hi CSA, congratulations on your new VIZIO 8 and welcome to the forum. Glad you decided to join us here at Android Tablets. Long press on the icon and either a garbage can will appear that you can drag/drop the app into or a list will appear with a delete option.
