this one is capacitive, but the SoC is more interesting

Renesas was supposed to be partnering with NEC Japan for this Cortex A9 processor, but supplies might be affected with the Japanese earthquake situation.

Citing video playback issues
RMVB plays but is choppy

This processor probably wont be much better than a single-core A8 since it is running an earlier version of Android

512MB RAM, Cortex A9 at 533Mhz per core, supposed to do 1080p playback, capacitive dualtouch, no Google apps. It runs an older 2.6.29 kernel.

Ships with Android 2.x. Due to the nature of shanzhai not releasing source code, this may never see Honeycomb and be forever limited to Android 2.x.

Multiple Tegra 2 tablets are set to be released this month from China.

Let's hope the price of this thing falls between $150-$250 where it belongs.

I doubt we will see it for $150 . Hope I'm wrong, it will be really interesting if it falls in that price range.

Confirmed reports that this is not Tegra 2, but Renesas EV2.

Is renesas EV2 = TCC8803?

I've located 7" capacitive 512Mb DDR3 RAM with TCC8803 HDMI with a nice price and it has good performance, very close to S5PV210 and supposed to
have better video capacities..

renesas EV2 is dual core cortex a9 processor , while tcc8803/spv5210/freescale imx515 are solo cortex a8 processor

Hey folks.

Recent purchaser of a Rena 3. It's an extremely snappy performer.

It appears that current media players don't play nice with its hardware yet, so Rockplayer media player set to software mode will fix the problem.
HDMI and mic are currently not working. Merimobiles posts firmware updates for the rena 3 but these issues aren't fixed yet.
It has market access but not full market.
I've gotten around that by downloading to my memory card and sideloading to the device.
Battery life looks to be five hours or so depending on usage, but I'm still breaking in this battery.

Overall I'm very impressed with the thing.

this seems like an interesting tablet, who is the actual original manufacturer of these tablets? is there a company like a haipad that manufacturers these and releases firmware for it too?

I am afraid that unless you are in the business, you will never find out who actually manufacture them.
After all, it is more complicated than manufacturer <-> consumer relationship.
There is another level below manufacturer which we call solution provider who supplied all the firmwares, in most cases, the manufacturer only simply "manufacture" the hardware.

You can find firmware of the Rena3 available online from different suppliers, I think the latest is 0713 or something...

Unless you are after our Gen-E tablet which we will provide firmware on our web site shortly, currently supplier to buyer via e-mail only.

the latest now is 1105, already gingerbread. Video playback is much more improved now in gingerbread and the tablet plays 720p and 1080p flawlessly.

Hi everyone, is the Dual-Core NEC EV2-Cortex A9-1GHz CPU onboard the Accelero Android tablet that I ordered pratically the same tablet? I did investigate a bit and all I found out on youtube is that is quite a little toy considering the price, can't understand why should run like an A8 Cortex single processor like someone mentioned here...do you think guys someone will be able to root it and inject Gingerbread? what are the real benefits apart from the obvious GUI optimization?
