Hi Guys,
i owned my Kyro 7022 last week and looked for another firmware,too.
I´m using the stock firmware for the CAT StarGate Epic now.
With this firmware i´m using 1,5gb internal memory (1GB for the apps)
and the Google market, etc. is in this stock firmware included.
Of course you cannot use the phone features of the CAT StarGate Epic

Cat StarGate Update
You have to use the Epic Firmware, the StarGate V2 had an resistive Touchscreen.
I used the "Update per Computer" method in the fwdn mode, i didn´t test the update with SD-Card.

I didn´t have an english version. Maybe you will find one.
If not, i could translate it, but at the weekend i´m very busy.
Here´s just a Quickie, worked fine with my coby 7022
1. Download CAT StarGate EPIC Flash (Update per Computer) and extract
2. install csgecatdroidflash/Installation-Software/Treiber/Treiber 5.0 Installer (as Root at Win7)
3. start csgecatdroidflash/Installation-Software/Cat-Installation-Software 1.13
4. Shut Off Coby Kyros 7022 and start it with Home Button pressed for FWDN Mode, after connect it with the PC
4. ""Nand Partition change detected. It will erase whole Nand" -->> OK
5. Open Updatepack/lk.ROM and add file
6. Switch from "Default Download" to "Low format whole memory before download"
7. Start and wait untill the first part ist ready, after delete or unmark the lk.ROM in the list
8. Now click on NAND DATA and click the "..." button, save this file somewhere
9. Click "Create Image" -> „MAKE FAT IMAGE SUCCESS“ -> OK
10. Press "..." and open updatepack/m801_mtd.img (switch to "All Files"), open it and add the file
11. If you have the two files NAND... & m801_mtd.img now in the list and marked, change from „Low format whole
memory before download“ back to „Default Download“ and press Start.
12. Wait until the window will become green and press the reset button.
