2.2.2 Rooted since release with SuperOneClick. This doesn't seem to be aimed at Froyo but you've tried it and it gives permanent root? Don't need it but it is interesting, and nice to know Gingerbread, at least on some devices, can be rooted.

well i didn't have my adb setup im sort of new to the whole development thing so i decided to try random things to root and this worked, its aimed for the honeycomb tabs but i was optomistic about it but tryed with no failure

That's cool it works, I'm curious what kind of exploit was used. Given the name I kind of thought it was aimed at 2.3.

Did u use psneuter or gingerbreak? gb worked for me.

With 2.1 use z4root, which is an apk that runs on your S7.
