RSS feeds

I'm hoping someone has any advice on connecting to RSS sources. I've tried at least three RSS source applications. BuzzBox won't connect, RSS Reader gives a connection error, try again later, message. This happens when I try and enter in Rss feeds like NYTimes. News Rob doesn't even load articles...Am I asking too much to have a rich RSS feed app. to go to? Meanwhile I have various links to websites on my desktop....Thanks in advance for any help.

Oh, I have an excellent WiFi connection. It's secured and the best in my development. I've run a Wifi monitor program.
