Samsung 10" Note Switches From Landscape To Portrait And Back Again

Why would my tablet switch from landscape to portrait and and back to landscape. I can be using wordsearch app on landscape and it randomly switches to portrait and I lose the wordsearch I was working on and it loses my progress and switches to a new puzzle .starts another from scratch. Have tried restarting and nothing seems to fix my problem Thanks for any help
