Samsung Galaxy Tab 2 won't activate for Sprint or Ting

I purchased this tablet (Samsung Galaxy Tab 2 10.1) from TigerDirect late in 2014. It was a Sprint tablet but that wasn't mentioned in the description. The description said it was 4G capable. At the time I didn't want to activate it, but I have changed my mind. I went to Ting.com and put in the MEID and they returned a message saying it was eligible. It wouldn't activate. I called them and they tried everything they could but it wouldn't work. I went to a Sprint store and they told me it wasn't available for activation. Does anyone have any suggestions about anything I can do or anyone to contact to get it to connect to the Sprint network? Should I contact Samsung?
