The answer is yes, but it's not a lot of fun trying to figure out which of the very few USB 3G dongles do and don't work. (this assume you want cellular data). You could possible tether to some phones if you have a data tether plan. I have a link below with additional information about how to get on-line when WiFi isn't an option. There is some 3G, (WLAN) info there.
