We have some new intel regarding the Samsung Galaxy Note 8 tablet, and to go along with it we also have some info regarding a separate and budget-priced Samsung Android tab. First, we have word that the pricing for the new Galaxy Note 8.0 will be around the $250-$300 mark. This seems like a pretty compelling and competitive price-point considering this tablet is likely aimed at beating the iPad Mini. With better specs, a slightly bigger and better display and a cheaper price, it could at least give it a run. Here's the leaked specs so far:
  • 8-inch 1280 x 800 LCD display
  • Quad-core processor clocked at 1.6GHz
  • 4600mAh battery
  • 3G cellular connectivity
  • S Pen
  • Samsung’s Premium Suite apps
That's not all of the enticing Samsung news for the Android tablet world. We also caught wind of a tablet from Sammy that is destined to fight in the "wallet-friendly arenas." Supposedly, Samsung is planning to release an affordably priced 7-inch tablet designed to compete in the Nexus 7 range. No details were furnished about this tablet other than a $150-200 price depending upon the storage option chosen. This would mean that Samsung will have joined the race currently being run by Google, Asus and Acer. We suspect to hear more concrete info at MWC in a few weeks.
