Screen response problem - Asus TF700T

Often times the touchscreen on my Asus tf700t is unresponsive. I don't think the problem is with the glass/digitizer as the screen is not broken or cracked. When this occurs and one long presses a portion of the screen, it resolves the issue. However, on other occasions the solution is to restart the device. Any idea what it could be?
