screen rotate lock?

I have tried several apps to lock the orientation and nothing seems to work. My problem is the stock orientation lock puts it in landscape mode and I need it locked in portrait mode. Any suggestions?

Settings->Display->Auto-Rotate, uncheck this. There are also apps such as AutoRotate switch in the Market.

Again, the stock locks it in landscape mode and I need it locked in portrait mode and I've been unable to find any apps that actually work on the Kyros (but they work on my phone). It seems like the apps to do this are totally ineffective on the Kyros.
