Screen shots - can't seem to do it

I read that I can take screen shots of my N7 by holding down the on/off button and volume button at the same time, but nothing happens when I do this.

Is there any secret, or tips, for how to take a screen shot?

You are right. It does have a screen shot feature. I did a quick search and came up with this URL:

A snap shot is taken when you hold just the 'down' volume button and the power button at the same time. Watch the video for a demonstration.

It works.

It takes a few tries. I find pressing the LOCK just before the VOL DOWN for best results. If you hit VOL DOWN first, you will get the VOL slider in your shot.
