Searching all directories for a fle

Evert app that has the ability to download a file doesn't alwyas indicate where the file is stored.
Today I used Real Player to download a video mp4 file, but I can not find it. I do not want to
manually search every directory for it.

Is the a simple way or app to do a one time search of ALL folders for a file, program, folder or
anythins else?

Anyone?? Am I missing an obvious way to do this?
