Skype v2.8.0.920 not working on WM8650/7''

Hello friends,
in my wm8650, skype, which is pre-installed, can be used as chat only mode. no calls is possible, pc to pc or tab to pc.

yesterday i installed Skype v2.8.0.920 from google play, and i m not able to sign in, it repeatedly says, signin problem.

now what to do? i have tried every setting in skype, but nothing happens.

solve it please.

I've done some research. The article here Does Skype Work With Wi-Fi? | eHow.com says that only tablets with Android 2.3 up will allow Skype to work with Wi-Fi. As the 8650 has 2.2, we can't use Skype.
