Sony Xperia Tablet Z Sky news Rotation problem

Help please.....

Sky app like sky news defaults to portrait view and will not rotate to landscape ?

I don't know about Sky in particular but I have several apps that seem to have originally designed for a phone that will not go into Landscape on my tablet, no matter how hard I try.

I bought a Tablet Z and like it so much, I bought one for my wife. Mine works great. On hers the screen often flitters all over the place and often locks up even when she is just reading a book. Is there something I can check before sending it back?
