Switch Between Apps?

Hello all and thanks up front!

I just my 10.1 2014 edition yesterday. On my other android tablets I have the double square thing to switch between apps on the row with the back and menu selection. How do I switch between apps on the 10.1? I cannot find it in the manual, by searching the forum or google.... I feel at a total loss.
