Yet, another 10" tablet dirt cheap only $189.99 online only from DigitalGagets for Sylvania. This one is a setup from Curtis Kul LT8025 which goes for $149.99 being an 8" tablet. Both are from Sylvania in a way. But still 8" for $149.99 and 10" for $189.99 really cheap what's the catch?

Specs wise both have 1GHz MPU/CPU, 256MB of RAM, 2GB for Nand Storage, 1.3 or 2.1mp Digital Camera, Mic, HDMI port, 2x USB ports, 10/100mbps LAN port, 2x microsdHc each handles up to 16GB cards so that's 32GB in total. If the RAM and Nand wasn't on the weak side then you would have a great tablet. Sure it doesn't come with Android Market Place, but you can use Amazon App Store instead, that's growing and giving away so much ad free games and apps daily. You can still install Google Maps, Streets and places on the tablet.

So here you have 10" with weak RAM and NAND specs along with a 8" in the same boat. But the 10" is suppose to have Android OS 2.2 while the 8" only has Android OS 2.1.

Note: Those who have SYNET7LP should be able to port of any rooting into the 10" being sold at J&R now. It does come with extra 2GB microSD card.

Tipstir, I saw this too and for my limited use case it might work out really well. I have the SYTABEX7. The SYTABEX7's resistive screen is actually pretty precise and as long as the 10" is equal in that respect I might bite.

Posted 04/03/2011 and 04/11/2011 - Some initial information posted here - Does the sylvania magni 10inch support USB internet connection?.

Posted again 04/14/2011 - Slyvania Magni 10"

Better specifications are reported in the reviews on J&R site than described in product description however, the software is plagued with similar issues to the 7" tablets and the other infoTM devices. In addition, the tablet will not automatically update either.

Identified as both - SYTAB10MT & SYNET10LP. This may also be an issue of the model being hard coded in to the Settings.apk.

"hwver"=11.6.1.5, 11.6.1.2, 11.6.3.1 are similar to the 0.6.1.2 & 0.6.1.5 Flytouch 2, SuperPad, WowPad, all infoTM devices.

Software updates are queried by substituting the "hwver" in the get command - http://222.73.93.45/sysup.php?data=11.6.1.5&vcode=0

"hwver"=11.6.1.5 returns - 11|http://222.73.93.45/update/11.6.1.5/wwe10_11.6.1.5.2.0_beta3.ius
"hwver"=11.6.3.1 returns - 11|http://222.73.93.45/update/11.6.3.1/0106rd_11.6.3.1.2.0_beta3.ius

The "11" in the above returned string is presumed the most current version available. This device version is noted in the upper right of the "Update Check" screen or can be queried using the command "getprop ro.versioncode" using either adb or Android Terminal Emulator.

The 8" version can be rooted easy using root app. Most of my stuff for COBY works but I am working on HONEYCOMB version for the Curtis Klu which is the same as the 10" the only difference is the size and since there is a difference in the size I'll need some files which need to be sent to me. PM if your interested. I'll be started later to night and should have something working later in the night or later in the week. Big Lots Corp I was talking to them today and found out that the Curtis Klu LT8025 is one time deal only when their gone that's it for the surplus. Not available on the East Coast. Only Central and West Coast region. But here comes the 10"..

This is a "new/beta" Froyo infoTMIC Update Wrap (IUW) for the Sylvania SYTAB10MT 10-Inch Magni Tablet also reported as a SYNET10LP.

The multi-part update file contains an IUW header, U0 - u-boot-nand.bin, RD - RAMDISK, LK - KERNEL, ADR-USER - UserData, and ADR-AS - system.img.

The Wrap Information details can be viewed for each *.ius using the IUW Version 1.0 InfoTM Update Wrap Tool.

Wrap Information:
Code:
Company: error
Board:    error
FileNum: 11.6.3.1.2.0
Size:    58 MB

Image List:
U0 (270 KB)
RD (195.5 KB)
LK (2617.5 KB)
ADD_USER (8.5 KB)
ADD_AS (56392.5 KB)

U0 "u-boot-nand.bin" - 2009.08-svn678 (Mar 14 2015 - 09:59:41)

The update server can be manually queried for update files using the method described in this post infoTMIC Hardware ID's "hwver" and updates (*.ius)
Code:
[URL]http://222.73.93.45/sysup.php?data=11.6.3.1&vcode=0[/URL]
Returns the following link -

11|http://222.73.93.45/update/11.6.3.1/11.6.3.1.2.0_beta4_0523.ius

The digits "11" preceding the the update server url link are assumed to be the current Version "ro.versioncode" noted in the build.prop.

While no link to an update file is provided for hwver=11.6.1.5, the links to the update files all follow the same pattern by concatenating the various parts together.

"http : //222.73.93.45/update/" + the results from /proc/cmdline where hwver=##.#.#.# + "/" and the file name *.ius.

This results is something like this where hwver=11.6.1.5 and using the structure of the file name above.

http://222.73.93.45/update/11.6.1.5/11.6.1.5.2.0_beta4_0523.ius

Caution: Using these files to update anything other than the corresponding "hwver (11.6.3.1 or 11.6.1.5) may brick the tablet.

novadar, the screen is responsive, just not quite as good as a capacitive screen.

tipstir, if you hear of a version of HoneyComb for the 10" Sylvania, I'd love to hear about it too.

Confirmed by Member frankthetank in post #16 http://www.androidtablets.net/forum/sylvania-tablets/17420-sytab10mt-root-success-2.html#post104917 that tablets were originally shipped with DG3.20 which was Android 2.2 but once updated will display DG2.2.1-10a1 which is still Android 2.2, thus an attempt to not confuse the user on which "Android version" is on the tablet.

In the latest updates, a feature "UpdateReceiver" was added to the Settings.apk which seems to provide the functionality to notify the user an update is available. No longer do users of an updated 10" tablet have to manually click Settings > Update System > Check for Update.

What's up with that, I wonder?

Might it have anything to do with HP's fire sale of the Touchpad?

Talking to Digital Gadgets, there was only ONE model produced... the TAB10MT. Any thing that comes back as saying it is a NET10 is error in programing. I have one on the way, should get it Tuesday.

Was able to flash the 7" using the ius files listed, and now I have this one for the 10", but I don't see an OTG port. I have 2 usb. Can someone give me directions? :)

and then I opened the box.... It appears that UPS used my tablet for a step to reach another box. Brand new 10", broken screen.

I bought it yesterday! I follow the instructions... I charged it for six hours, than I try to turn on, the light became blue but on the screnn never not appear anything! why? please! help me!
