Tablet for Research, Notes, and Social Networking

Hey All,

I am in my last year of graduate school finishing up my degree in library and information sciences. (I am not a tech specialist, so no judging for me posting here!) My laptop finally died and I am looking for a tablet to replace it. I'm looking for a tablet to help me do research, take notes (not intensive), and social network. Something good enough that it can take me from my student life to my professional life pretty easily. I am also considering a variety of price ranges...not sure how much I want to spend yet since I'm graduating and money is kind of tight.

Did you ever get a reply to this? I am a teacher and wondering which tablet to buy. My wife just got a Samsung Tab 7 and she loves it. I would love to find an app or tablet that would let me highlight and take notes while reading and put them in files that are automatically cited and referenced to the works from which they were copied or about which they were made. Any ideas for the best tablet and app combo for this?
