Tablet help please. Screen blackout

My tablet keeps crashing and I have to reboot it by doing an update just to get it to turn on! It's like it's stuck on and can only go into sleep mode but when it is on, the screen is lit up but solid black. I have to do the reboot via upgrade at least once a day now. The upgrade was sent to me by the seller when my mothers tablet started acting up with the g-sensor. My tablet has a honeycomb mod to make it run like that but the problems just started recently and I've had this for several months. Should I try just upgrading again to get it running again? What can I do to fix this without losing all my information and apps?

I suggest editing your post and changing the last line to "contact me via PM" and removing your email address, never a good idea to post on open forums. Junk Mail harvesters collect them.
